XAXLI’P LAND USE

The Xaxli’p Indigenous Government, based in Lillooet, British Columbia, engaged 3Pikas to develop a Land Use Plan. The Land Use Plan was developed through extensive meetings and engagement with the community to provide a future direction for the area while benefiting the population.

The purpose of the Xaxli’p Land Use Plan is to provide direction for long-term growth and development, including housing, economic development, agriculture, leisure, and community facilities on Reserve Lands. Due to engagement programs throughout this project, participants were allowed space to focus their inputs and time on their interests, abilities, and convenience.

Acknowledgment: In the spirit of respect, reciprocity, and truth, we acknowledge that we live, work and play on the Traditional Territory of the Ta’an Kwäch’än Council and Kwanlin Dün First Nation and all people who make the City of Whitehorse their homes and whose relationships with the land continue to this day.
