REST AREA MODERNIZATION PROJECT

The Rest Area Modernization Project aims at updating two rest areas along the Alaska Highway. These updates include modernized general and accessible parking, shelter and picnic areas, outhouses, streetlights, communication servicing infrastructure, and electric vehicle charging stations.

The project includes multiple analyses and tasks, including technical workshops, general function program overview, space needs assessments, and site visits. Using these analyses, conceptual site plans reflect design elements appropriate to the Yukon context. Various partners were given the opportunity to review and comment on the concept to, again, hone the concept to the most minute detail.
