HILLCREST RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT

Hillcrest's water, sewer and road infrastructure has reached the end of its service life and needs to be upgraded. In 2022, the City hired 3Pikas to prepare conceptual options and carry out the public engagement and Associated Engineering to prepare a detailed design to renew and revitalize this public infrastructure.

The redevelopment will modernize aging infrastructure and enhance connectivity, creating a comprehensive environment with active transportation links, additional residential units, and public amenities. During the outreach events, participants were asked for comments and feedback on the key plan concepts presented. To help guide each discussion, participants were encouraged to provide feedback. Through thematic analysis of all feedback received, the project team organized the responses by key topic areas and further identified subthemes. The prevalence of each topic area and subtheme within the responses received, along with a summary of key outcomes and takeaways, informed the options and recommendations.
